End of the Rainbow
End of the Rainbow
Our hero, Mitch McScruffy, traverses a treacherous journey through this fantastical realm to save what he holds most dear: freedom against King Cat’s tyrannical rule. McScruffy has been left to fend for himself in the desolate underbelly of King Cat’s regime, but will not be silenced. McScruffy is an aberration of Mickey Mouse - an estranged brother if you will.
This particular story is to subvert the expectation of the traditional fairytale - turning damsel in distress into a trope of the past. To achieve this objective, this story takes on a comedic approach towards traditional Gothic perceptions in storytelling. This project is inspired by William Kentridge’s charcoal short films as his drawings come to life through a stop motion process.
